2017 Tutu Fellow Hema Vallabh has been recognised at this year's Fortune: Most Powerful Women in Business for 2017 and presented with the Fortune/Goldman Sachs Global Leader's Award. The event took place in Washington, DC on 10 October.  Fortune's Most Powerful Woman founder Pattie Sellers presented her with the award.

Hema has an earlier relationship with Fortune in which they recognised back then, already, her potential. In 2013, she was mentored by Fortune 500 executive Bridget Van Kralingen, a Senior Vice President at IBM, which was program of the Fortune and U.S. Department of State's Global Mentorship Exchange. She has since been paying it forward through her work at WomEng and, of course, the journey to #1MillionGirlsInSTEM.
