Professional History: Dr Patrick Gatonga is the Group CEO for AAR Insurance Holdings, where he leads impact and sustainable growth. Patrick has worked as a senior executive in the insurance industry with particular focus on growth, transformations, innovation, and digitalization. He previously served as CEO for Jubilee Health Insurance (Kenya) and as Board Director at Jubilee Insurance’s Uganda and Tanzania businesses.
Prior to that he worked as Commercial Executive at Old Mutual. He has also worked extensively across Africa and the Middle East, including as Senior Consultant at McKinsey, where he worked in multiple sectors such as Financial Services, Logistics and Utilities.
Patrick is also a certified Executive Coach. He is a member of the UK Academy of Executive Coaching, member of the Insurance Institute of Kenya, Fellow of the Life Management Institute (USA), member of the General Insurance Council (AKI), and a member of the Kenya Medical Association.
Besides his professional career, he is also a classical pianist and youth leadership development advocate.
